A message from Chuck Huffine, our Public Relations Chairperson:

The Public Relations Committee is off to a good start. We have developed procedures and have a good idea of the types of news items that we would like the rest of the world to know about – the accomplishments of the Western District and our members. Our first two features will be on the student District award winners, and on Jonathan Upchurch for his Lifetime Achievement Award. We will issue press releases to various media, government, educational and other entities sometime this month. If you have any items that you think are newsworthy to people outside of ITE, please forward them to me at chuck.huffine@jacobs.com. We cannot release everything, but we will do what we can!

We also need 5 to 6 additional people on the committee. Committee members either contact District, Section and Chapter officers to solicit input, or distribute press releases to various outlets, or both. Time commitment is relatively small. Come be a part of this new committee that will hopefully serve as the model for other Districts and ITE HQ!
