Whether you’re a passenger, driver, cyclist, or pedestrian, one of ITE’s collective goals is to ensure safe journeys on the roads of the Western District. The program for the upcoming Western District Annual Meeting provides ample opportunities for attendees to learn from subject matter experts in Vision Zero and Safety Analysis as well as discussions on the latest in Complete Streets and Active Transportation. I hope that you are all making plans to attend this summer’s ITE Western District Annual Meeting ( in Sacramento from June 23rd– 26th. The deadline for base registration for the meeting ends on May 1st, and regular room rates are still available at the Sheraton Grand Hotel.

The LAC has some amazing events planned –

The Western District Family Night is on Monday, June 24th at the Punch Bowl Social Sacramento. The Sacramento LAC has a ton of fun activities planned at this 25,000-square-foot facility with bowling, billiards, darts, ping pong, karaoke and other games running all night. Of course, there will be amazing food and craft cocktails available.

The Western District Annual Business Meeting is on Tuesday, June 25th at the Sheraton Grand Magnolia Room. Attendees can choose to attend the Annual Business Luncheon or a Networking Luncheon. The Annual Business Luncheon will feature the current State of the District, annual budgets, awards and election results.  The Networking Luncheon will be an unstructured luncheon where attendees can meet and mingle.  Luncheon selection is included as part of the registration process.

Join us for some friendly competition as teams compete against each other in the inaugural Western District Bowl on Tuesday from 3PM to 5PM!  This new event builds upon the rich tradition of the Professional Traffic Bowl and invites teams to experience all of the excitement and fun of our traditional event with our new game format.

Afterwards the Annual Awards Banquet (Social Hour 6 PM – 7 PM; Banquet 7 PM – 11 PM) will recognize the best and brightest for their contributions and achievements.  As a tribute to Sacramento’s “Old West” past, this year’s banquet is themed the “Western District Round Up”! Show off your pioneering spirit by dressing up in your best western or country attire. Line dancing lessons will be provided by the LAC, followed by a DJ spinning tunes.

Finally, our Western States Luncheon (11:30 AM – 1:30 PM) will be held on Wednesday, June 26th as a final celebration of the Western District, enjoy lunch with fellow members one last time, hear remarks from the District President (promise they will be short), and witness the installation of new officers.

Please continue to check your e-mails and the Annual Meeting website for more details about our Western District meeting!
