I hope that you are all making plans to attend this summer’s ITE Joint International and Western District Annual Meeting in Portland from August 13th-16th. Early registration for the meeting ends on June 23rd, and regular room rates are still available at the Hyatt Regency while additional government room rate blocks are available at two nearby hotels. Even though this will be a joint meeting, there will still be plenty of District-oriented events!

The Western District Family Night is on Monday, August 14th at the Rose Quarter Commons – Main Amphitheater, adjacent to the Moda Center. This event will require an additional ticket with differential pricing for Western District members, so please be sure to add this when registering for the meeting. Dressing up at our Annual Meetings is a long-time Western District tradition, and I really look forward to seeing the creative costumes you will come up with for our Family Night’s theme of “The Great Outdoors.” There will be plenty of food trucks, photo booths, activities, and entertainment for a fun evening!

The Western District Annual Business Meeting is on Tuesday, August 15th at the Hyatt Regency Multnomah Room. This event is included in your meeting registration. Since this year’s meeting is a joint meeting with International, all awards typically included with other District events will be presented during the Business Meeting. Join us to hear about the current State of the District, annual budgets, awards, and election results.

For our Young Members, we will kick off the Annual Meeting early on Saturday, August 12th with the Kell Competition, MiteY Race, and Student Awards Session & Young Member Social, followed by a Career Guidance Session on Monday, August 14th. Plan on arriving early in Portland to participate in these events.

Please continue to check your e-mails and the Annual Meeting website for more details about our District-oriented events!
