Dear Western District Members,

We have an exciting month ahead. First and foremost, the Joint International and Western and Mountain Districts Annual Meeting is right around the corner. Don’t miss out and be sure to register separately for the Western District events at Western District Family Night will feature the return of the Professional Traffic Bowl, where you can witness a riveting battle of the minds between our greatest transportation intellectuals and are guaranteed at least one good laugh. We are also excited to offer leadership and family social activities as well as our ever-popular Students/Young Professionals program. Registration is FREE but please register now to ensure we can accommodate everyone.

The first of our Annual Meeting related activities is kicking off this Saturday (June 26th) with the Western District Student Traffic Bowl. You can catch the final round at 1 PM (PST) to see which Student Chapter will be moving on to the International competition. Links for access are available at our website:

ITE recently announced their first-ever group of Young Leaders to Follow and Western District is proud to have two members who were selected to the Class of 2021. Congratulations to Neelam Dorman (Southern California Section) and Daniel Lai (Washington Section)!

I am also proud to announce that the Western District’s submission was selected for ITE International’s Transportation Transforms Communities Video Challenge “Best in Class Award.” Our video will be showcased at the ITE Annual Meeting opening session on July 20, 2021. I would like to recognize our Social Media Committee Chair, Paul Stanis, for leading the effort in producing the video and helping the District secure this award.

And of course, don’t forget to register for the Annual Meeting Technical Program administered through International’s website: Early bird registration has passed but you can still get a great value on this virtual meeting. I look forward to seeing you there!
