Section-Chapter Spotlight: Oregon Section

Oregon ITE has operated out of the Portland Metro region for over 10 years, we are excited to announce that we recently joined with Greater Oregon ITE to provide one representative branch for Oregon. As part of this we will start hosting events via webinar. This means all ITE chapters can now start viewing our events, earn more PDH hours, ask us hard questions, and learn about the transportation happenings in Oregon. Information for our events can be found at www.oregonite.org

Over the last year we have hosted a variety of events. We keep our events very wonky to help keep our younger members interested, from a full-day technical winter workshop to happy hours, and a golf event for folks that don’t golf.  This year we also celebrated our 25th annual Traffic Bowl, with Oregon State taking first place! Oregon ITE is competing to host the 2021 ITE International Annual Meeting and Exhibit in Portland, as a joint meeting with the Western District.  We’ll be presenting our proposal to ITE this June, and as part of this you can check out our Past-President (Anthony Buczek) attempting to score a goal in the “Outshoot Slapshot Shawn” hockey competition/fundraiser at the 2017 Western District Annual Meeting in San Diego.

If you need an excuse to come to Oregon before 2021, we will also be hosting the Quad Conference in Spring of 2018. Keep your eyes out for more information on this coming soon!
