At the January 2013 District Board Meeting, the Student Endowment Fund was named in honor of Richard T. Romer. Rich was president of the Western District in 1997-1998, and the ITE International President in 2006. Rich led generations of young engineers to continue along his path and instilled the importance of balancing professional workload with contributions to professional societies to further grow the transportation profession. Priscilla Romer accepted a commemorative plaque at the Phoenix meeting, and several other members of Rich’s family were also there for the event. Read the spotlight article on Rich here.
