President’s Message

November is here and it is STEM month! Please let the District know if you have specific activities planned so we can share it with the rest of our members. As I mentioned in my previous President’s Message, ITE has created a competition to encourage our members to participate in a STEM activity (link to form). The STEM subcommittee also has put together a list of activities and presentation templates for our members to use (link to resources).

The Western District is also looking for Officer Candidates! We are seeking nominations of qualified candidates for Secretary-Treasurer and International Director to run in the June 2020 election. Secretary-Treasurer nominations can be submitted for individuals from Region 1 (Alaska, Washington, Oregon, Hawaii, Northern California, and SF Bay Area) while International Director nominations can be submitted for individuals regardless of where they reside. If you would like to submit a nomination or would like more information please reach out to our International Director, Cathy Leong. Nominations are Due December 1st.

We have also had a call out for nomination for Individual and Lifetime Achievement Awards. These nominations are due November 1st to our Past President, Mark Spencer. Details on the awards and the nomination process can be found on our website:

Some final reminders:

Please keep the people affected by the many wildfires throughout the Western United States in your thoughts. As we always say in the Western District, Together We Are the Best, and from what I’ve experienced with our members, we are all in it together and here to help as best as we can.

Stay safe and have a Happy Halloween!

Neelam Dorman
President, ITE Western District
