President’s Message

For August, I’d like to focus my President’s message on our 2020 Joint Western District and Mountain District Annual Meeting to be held in Honolulu, Hawaii. Below is all you need to know for the meeting:

  • The meeting dates are June 28th to July 1st, 2020 and you can register now! https://www.westernite.org/annualmeeting/register/
  • The meeting will be held at the Hilton Hawaiian Village in Waikiki and you can book your rooms now! https://www.westernite.org/annualmeeting/lodging/
  • The call for papers is live! Abstracts are due on December 20th, 2019 and we already have abstracts coming in! https://www.westernite.org/annualmeeting/call-for-papers/
  • We’ve sold out of the top tier sponsorships for the meeting but there’s plenty opportunities to sponsor (https://www.westernite.org/annualmeeting/sponsorship/) and we still have vendor booths available (https://www.westernite.org/annualmeeting/exhibitors/)

  • The slogan for the meeting is ‘O kākou ka ‘oi which means “Together we are the best!”
  • The family night event with be a private luau by the Duke Kahanamoku Lagoon in the Hilton Hawaiian Village
  • Our theme for the awards banquet is Bollywood in Paradise so make sure to wear your best Bollywood inspired or aloha wear.
