Transportation Project Engineer – Irvine, California

RBF’s Irvine Office is seeking two Project Engineers to lead transportation planning and engineering design teams in the preparation of project study reports, project reports, and final design plans, specifications and estimates for freeway, highway and local roadway improvement projects.

These Project Engineers will lead planning, design and CADD production staff in the development and successful delivery of all technical transportation design work products associated with freeway, highway and local roadway improvement projects (studies, reports, geometrics, profiles, grading and drainage). They will also be responsible for the preliminary and final design of highway and drainage plans, specifications and estimates for city, county and state facilities, and act as the primary point of contact with agency engineering staff (city, county and state).

Position requires a B.S. in Civil Engineering, California PE license, and 3-7 years of transportation planning/engineering experience. A strong background in AutoCAD/Softdesk and/or Microstation/InRoads is essential.

Transportation Planner/Traffic Engineer - Monterey Bay Office

RBF Consulting’s Monterey Bay office is seeking a Transportation Planner/Traffic Engineer to perform traffic impact studies, parking studies, transportation planning, and traffic operations. Responsibilities will include preparing proposals for traffic impact studies, client communication and meeting attendance, mentoring junior level staff, analyzing traffic data using highway capacity methodologies, and creating graphics for presentations and reports. The candidate will also be responsible for coordinating and analyzing traffic counts, conducting field reviews, analyzing alternative land use scenarios and associated traffic impacts, and preparing documentation.

Requirements for the position include a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Planning or Urban and Regional Planning, as well as 5+ years of transportation planning/traffic engineering experience, including roadway/highway design and/or PSR/PR. Qualified candidates should possess a proficiency in MS Office, familiarity with AutoCAD, and strong knowledge of Synchro, Traffix, and HCS. A Master’s degree in a related field is a plus, but not required.

broad knowledge in all aspects traffic planning and engineering, to join our Phoenix office management team. As the practice area leader, the Department Manager will oversee production and ensure the quality of traffic impact studies, master circulation plans, design concept reports, parking studies, signing and striping plans, maintenance of traffic plans, traffic signal plans, and traffic signal interconnect plans. This position carries responsibilities for training and mentoring staff and identifying new staff as the department grows, and for developing and nurturing client relationships.
