The ITE California SB 743 Task Force prepared the first draft comment letter to OPR on the revised draft SB 743 guidelines. OPR has set a deadline of February 29th to submit comments.
The proposed schedule for the remainder of the comment process follows:
Comments Due on First Draft Letter: 2/19
Chair Prepares Second Draft Letter: 2/22 (To be sent to Task Force only)
Task Force Comments Due on Second Draft Letter: 2/25
Chair Polls ITE Presidents on Key Issues (if needed): 2/22 – 2/25
Chair Sends Final Letter to OPR: 2/29
The intent of this letter is to reflect a consensus of California ITE members, with the understanding that not all California ITE members need to agree with each of the detailed comments. If there is difficulty achieving agreement among ITE members on any individual comments, the intent is to poll the seven current ITE section presidents to form a decision.
This first draft letter includes comments on the SB 743 process based on review of the revised draft guidelines, and based on numerous individual conversations with ITE members over the past couple of years. In addition, this first draft includes input from several task force members who sent comments after the revised draft guidelines were released on January 20.
If you are a current or past president of an ITE Section who has held office during the SB 743 process, please check the signatory section at the end of the letter to make sure your information is shown correctly. Some past presidents have elected to remain signatories to the letter after leaving office while others have elected to drop out of the signature area. The chair may be checking with a few of you if your status is uncertain. If you would like to recommend any comments or changes, please send them to Erik Ruehr by February 19.
