Wayne T. Wagoner Award

Recognizes the author(s) of a paper judged (by a committee of section technical chairs) to be the best of those published by a Western District member in the ITE Journal during the previous calendar year. Prior to 1987 the award was for the best article in either ITE Journal or WesternITE. In 1987 the award was endowed by the Van Wagoner family in honor of Wayne VanWagoner, a Western District member who successfully served Western District and was editor of WesternITE between 1980 and 1984, just prior to his untimely death in an auto accident in Utah October 1985. His wife Patricia continued to served as WesternITE editor from 1984 until 1990. The winning author receives $200 and a plaque at the Annual Meeting.
